Mahinda faction gave legality to VAT by going to SC
The Supreme Court decision obtained by Mahinda faction of the SLFP did not reduce VAT that is a burden for the masses and instead of people getting any benefit from it the advantage is for the government says the Member of Parliament of the JVP Sunil Handunneththi. He made this revelation participating in the ‘Balaya’ pogramme telecast by Hiru TV yesterday (21st).
Despite people expecting that the government would be denied opportunity to impose VAT once the Members of Mahinda faction get the decision from the SC, the decision has given the government legality to impose VAT and Members of Mahinda faction has letdown the masses of this country pointed out Mr. Handunneththi.
