Vijaya Nandasiri passes away
Popular Actor Vijaya Nandasiri, who played the main role in several Sinhala movies and tele dramas and was famous for playing hilarious roles passed away today (8th) morning at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital.
He was 69 years of age at the time of his passing away. 'Nonawaruni Mahathwaruni, Ethuma, Kathura, and Yes Boss were notable hilarious plays in which he played the main role.
Mr. Vijaya Nandasiri, a former student of Vidyakara Vidyalaya in Maharagama, cake to limelight playing the character of Maname in Professor Ediriweera Srachchandra’s Maname and also appeared in many other plays such as 'Singha Bhahu, Mahasara and Ratnawalee'.
He also played roles in films Yasa Isuru, Sandakada Pahana, Bengali Walalu, Sasara, Rail Para and Sikuru Hathe. He was married to the pioneer actress of Sri Lankan teledrama Devika Mihirani. He was a father of two children.
