Justice Ministry needs to bear responsibility for delays: Sunil Perera

- newsfirst.lk

Veteran artiste Sunil Perera expressed views on a television interview aired recently. The artiste charged that so many complaints have already been lodged but the Justice Department is not filing any cases.

I think only three cases have been filed thus far”, he said and went on to add that individuals such as Sunil Handunnetti and Anura Kumara have done their part – and now if these individuals have done their part and handed over the necessary documents, why aren’t the cases not proceeding. Then it is those people in the Justice Ministry that needs to bear responsibility for the delays, he said.

He pointed out that this delay is because a ‘big fish’ at the Ministry of Justice, who is a large scale businessman, went to America and took photographs with the people of Avant Garde.

“So shouldn’t that gentleman kindly resign? I had lot of respect for him before the elections, now of course, I can’t stand to see the sight of him”, said Perera.

“Name someone who has voluntarily resigned? Now compare this situation with other nations” ,added Sunil Perera, who went on to point out that in England, when Cameron lost his mandate, he resigned gracefully.
