Over 1000 bridges before 2017 ends: Provincial Councils and LG Ministry
The Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government has said that before the end of the year 2017, they will vest 1210 bridges with the public. Issuing a communique, the Ministry noted that this will be implemented in three stages and that Rs.45 billion will be allocated for this purpose.
Under the first phase, 210 bridges will be constructed in the Western, Southern, Central, Uva, North-central and Sabaragamuwa provinces. Rs.6,843 million of the UK aid will be allocated for this project.
