Third AmCham Bowling Tournament 2012-HSBC remains unbeaten for third successive year

The third AmCham Bowling Tournament 2012 organised by the American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka (AmCham) was held on 27 July at the Excel World, Entertainment Park, Colombo 10.

Teams from 35 leading Corporates and Institutions took part in this year’s tournament and the event was conducted in three preliminary The Champion HSBC team with (from left): AmCham Vice President Prasath Nanayakkara, Pan Asia Bank Head of Prime and Private Banking Ryan Perera, AmCham President Vijaya Ratnyake, American and Efird Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd. Managing Director Priyntha Aluthwatterounds. The top 11 teams with the best scores were selected to play in the fourth and final round. A team comprised of 5 members with a compulsory female member.
HSBC emerged Champions and remains unbeaten for the third year of the AmCham Bowling Tournament with a final score of 737 points. MAS team “B” was the first runner-up with 714 points and MAST “B” was adjudged the second Runner-up with 695 points.
Savinda Samarakoon of MAS team “B” won the Best player-Male award with 197 points while Dilshani Morris of Timex and Fergasam Group was awarded the Best Player-Female award with 140 points. The Best Player-Male/Female was selected from the final round.
Vijaya Ratnayake, President, AmCham stated that it was encouraging to see more teams participating each year. 21 teams participated in the firsy year with the number increasing to 26 in 2011 and 35 teams this year. He believes that events such as the AmCham Bowling Tournament provides an opportunity for members of the staff of Corporate Institutions to network through sportsmanship.  He further thanked American and Efird Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd the Platinum sponsor of the event and Pan Asia Bank the Gold Sponsor for coming forward to support AmCham in conducting a successful Bowling Tournament.
