World’s first portal connecting the fashion industry

WELOVEIT Studio, a strategic design studio in Sri Lanka, launched world’s first-ever comprehensive online designer portal ─ The Fashion Circle at ‘The Fashion Circle Runaway Show’ held last week at the Mount Lavinia Hotel. The portal, a world’s first, brings together all fashion professionals – fashion designers, hair and makeup artists, models, retail brands, choreographers and fashion photographers globally on to one platform.

The Fashion Circle was launched by the Chief Guest for the event, Hameedia Managing Director Fouzul Hameed, The Fashion Circle and WELOVEIT Studio CEO Mohamed Ziham, The Fashion Circle COO Dilakshan Dariju and The Fashion Circle Managing Partner Ashan Kumar.
The Fashion Circle Runway Show featured collections from Prabath Samarasooriya, Krishanthi Fernandopulle, Ramona Oshini, Iesha Hettigama, Lonali Rodrigo and Ayodhya Ratnayake.
The Fashion Circle provides Sri Lankan designers with a global gateway to inspire the rest of the world through a distinct identity and position Sri Lanka’s fashion niche. The platform will provide an opportunity for all talented individuals to showcase their strengths to the global fashion industry.
Mohamed Ziham, CEO of WeLoveIT Studio and The Fashion Circle said, “The Sri Lankan fashion industry’s gateway to a global platform just opened through the introduction of The Fashion Circle and the entry to Fashion 3.0. The portal will be introduced to other geographies within the next couple of months to further enhance our offering as a true sustainable fashion portal.
“I would also like to thank my team, volunteers, all our partners and sponsors who helped us to organise the Fashion Circle Runway Show. This is an innovation from Sri Lanka to the world of fashion.”
The site will also give retail brands an opportunity to feature its products and services, providing a total solution for one’s fashion needs. It will, in the months to come, integrate the facility for fashion designers to sell their collections online. The Fashion Circle features sub-sections that feature different facets of the realm of fashion.
‘Top Steals’ features the latest fashion trends, ‘Ask a Designer’ features a Q&A session with a featured designer every month and ‘Designer Labels’ is a section that is dedicated for fashion designers to showcase their creations.
The portal offers the facility for registered users to showcase their portfolios online ─ be it collections of designer wear, portfolios of fashion shoots, images of hair shows/competitions, ramp and glamour shoots.
The concept of the Fashion Circle is for fashion professionals to cohesively project their work and capabilities as Sri Lankans to a global audience. This is done with an easy-to-navigate site structure that resonates with vibrancy.
