Factories of Kahawatte Plantation in record-breaking spree

At this week’s tea auctions, the quality oriented factories from Kahawatte Plantations PLC dominated the high and medium catalogue by establishing three all-time record prices as indicated below.
BOP1 Grade: Three BOP 1 lines of Craighead, Rilagala and Dombagastalawa marks established an all-time record price of Rs. 800 per kg surpassing the previous record of Rs. 780 established by Craighead Mark. These lines were purchased by George Steuart Tea Ltd., Watawala Trading Company and Basilur Tea Export Ltd. respectively.
FBOP Grade: All-time record price of Rs. 780 was established for a line of FBOP from Craighead Factory surpassing the record price of Rs. 760 established by the same mark. This line was purchased by HVA Lanka Exports Ltd.

OP1 Grade: A line of tea from Dombagastalawa Mark equalled the all-time record price of Rs. 820, which was established way back in November 2011. This line was purchased by Empire Tea Ltd.
Sales of these record-breaking lines were conducted by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd., the sole broker for the three marks.
Kahawatte Plantation Factories have consistently maintained highest quality standards and are ranked as first five orthodox factories in the Western Medium Elevation Category.
