The newly appointed coach of the Sri Lanka Cricket team and the Manager are under fire after Sri Lanka continued its nosedive in the game last week.

Sources said that the coach and Manager have failed to work together to ensure the team selected for the ongoing tri-series in Bangladesh had the best preparations ahead of the tour.

Some sources also said that a rift had emerged between coach Chandika Hathurusinghe and Manager Asanka Gurusinha over the selection of the team.

It is learnt that Gurusinha had got involved in the selection of some players which did not go well with the coach.

Meanwhile it is also learnt that Hathurusinghe had not consulted the Sri Lanka A-team coach to select some of the best performing players to be included in the team to Bangladesh.

Fired by three half-centuries from their top batsmen, Bangladesh plunged Sri Lanka to a massive 163-run defeat on Friday and recorded their biggest victory in terms of runs in ODIs.

Prior to that Sri Lanka also suffered defeat in the hands of Zimbabwe.
