Join ‘Brotherhood Day’ events on 27th
Several ceremonies to mark the ‘Brotherhood Day’ organized by the Socialist Youth Union (SYU) under the theme “No to religious extremism & communalism! Allow us Sinhalese, Tamil & Muslims to live together!” are being held throughout the island.
The ‘Brotherhood Day’ is celebrated to promote and build unity among Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim Burgher and Malay masses.
The main programme on the Brotherhood Day’ which is on the 27th would be and walk commencing from Maligawatta Police at 3.00 p.m., a rally held at the Open Air stadium of Viharamahadevi Parkat 4.00 p.m. and a cultural show to be held with eh participation of popular and renowned artistes.
Among the participants at the events are Socialist Youth Union (SYU), Federation of University Teachers’ Associations (FUTA), Sri Lanka Bar Association (BASL), Muslim Council, People for Unity, the Action Committee for Media Freedom, National Trade Union Center (NTUC), students councils, artistes and intellectuals organizations.
