Strong winds at times over the central hills and Northern parts of country

The Met. Dept. says that several spells of showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts particularly during the morning.

Thundershowers will develop at several places in the Uva and Eastern provinces during the afternoon or evening.

 

Strong winds at times (up to 60kmph) can be expected over the central hills, northern parts of the country and over the sea areas off the Northern and Northeastern coast.Wind speed can  strengthen up to 70-80kmph at times in the Bay of Bengal. 

 

On the apparent southward relative motion of the Sun, the nearest towns of Sri Lanka over which the sun will overhead today (30), are Toddaveli, Nayinamadu and Kokkilai around 12:12 noon.

Afternoon or evening thundershowers likely in Batticaloa.



Several spells of showers in Rathnapura, Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Colombo and Galle.


Mainly fair in Jaffna , Anuradhapura, Trincomalee and Mannar.



Max. Temperature of 34 °C is expected from Trincomalee.


Min. Temperature of 12 °C is expected from Nuwara Eliya.
