Uva gets 100 New Buses
Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa participated as the Chief Guest att the handing over of 100 new buses to the 10 depots in the Badulla and Moneragala Districts. The busses will be distributed to the depots of Badulla, Bandarawela, Keppetipola, Mahiyanganaya, Siyambalanduwa, Kataragama, Wellawaya, Bibile, Moneragala and Dehiattakandiya.
These buses were the first 100 out of the ordered 2200 buses.It is planned to give maximum 10 buses to each depot and deploy the new buses to long distance routes and to routes which gets high income levels.
Minister of Transport Kumara Welgama, Ministers Nimal Siripala De Silva, Dilan Perera, Senior Ministers Dr. Sarath Amunugama, A.H.M Fauzie, Deputy Minister Rohana Dissanayake, Chief Minister of the central province Sarath Ekanayaka, Sabaragamuwa Governor W.J.M Lokubandara were also present at this occasion.(KH)
