SriLankan and Pilots’ Guild sign three-year collective deal

SriLankan Airlines and the Pilots’ Guild entered into a new three-year collective deal last week to work together for the betterment of the national carrier.

The management of SriLankan Airlines and the Pilots’ Guild signed on 12 September a new agreement that mutually recognises the importance of enhancing productivity and contributing to business priorities whilst addressing the needs of the flight crew in keeping with industry trends and employee retention demands.
Noting that the closing of the said agreement was an exemplary achievement, SriLankan Airlines commended the manner in which the committee members of the Pilots’ Guild carried out the negotiation process.
“The management appreciates the Guild’s approach in joining hands with the company in this hour of need and revival and wish to recognise the professionalism with which the committee members of the Guild, led by Captain Chaminda De Soysa, conducted during the negotiations to bring this agreement to a successful conclusion,” SriLankan Airlines said.
The Airline views the agreement as an exemplary achievement which was executed in line with the company’s future expansion plans and overall objectives. It calls on all employee groups to work towards the management’s slogan of ‘Working Together and Winning together.’
