Scots decide to stay with UK
The majority of voters have decided in favour of remaining within the United Kingdom, in the referendum held to decide whether Scotland should remain as part of the United Kingdom or become an independent country.
A total of 4,285,323 Scottish nationals had been registered as voters for that referendum. The referendum was held on Thursday (18) in 2608 polling stations around Scotland. The votes were counted in 32 counting centres.
