Keeping in line with their international marketing strategy, Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts participated in the annual International French Travel Mart (IFTM) which was held at Parc d’ Exposition in Porte de Versailles in Paris from 23 to 26 September.
They also welcomed the reigning Miss France 2014, Flora Coquerel to their stall. Coquerel is an ambassador for Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts. Due to the agreement the brand has with the Miss France Organization following the pre-pageant tour of Sri Lanka which took place in November last year, the reigning Miss France spearheaded promotions of the brand as a result of the great following and popularity she has in France.
She was warmly welcomed by the Cinnamon team, along with CEO of the Miss France Organisation and Miss France 2002, Sylvie Tellier.
IFTM Top Resa is France’s international travel and tourism trade fair and is the tourism industry’s leading event for networking, innovating and keeping abreast with market developments. The exhibition offers a full view of the global travel industry.
Last year alone, the IFTM had 348 stalls hosting more than 1,200 brands and this was a 10% increase from the previous session. 160 destinations took part, 11 of them – Cape Verde, Belarus, Ethiopia, Goa, Haiti, Libya, Panama, Apulia, Norway, Mauritania and Mongolia – for the first time.
Head of Brand Marketing for Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts, Dileep Mudadeniya commented: “The French market is dynamic in its outbound travel and possesses travellers who will engage in round tours in the country. By participating at this Trade Fair, Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts hopes to attract such tourists who not only stay at beach hotels but also hotels within the Cultural Triangle and Hill Country,  thereby being hospitable to all those who are keen to explore the rich culture and heritage of the destination.”
Mudadeniya stated: “France is the fifth largest contributing market for Sri Lanka and there has been nearly a 30% increase in tourist arrivals when compared to last year with 57,881 tourist arrivals recorded up to date. It is anticipated that there will be 90,000 tourist arrivals this year and the goal of obtaining 100,000 tourist arrivals by 2016 will be surpassed.”
