Ambassador D. S. de Silva presents credentials to the Polish President

Sri Lanka's Ambassador-designate to Poland, D.S. de Silva presented his credentials to the President of Poland, Bronisłow Komorowski at a ceremony held at the official residence, "Belvedere" in Warsaw, on 07th November 2014. 

The Ambassador was invited to a private meeting with the President, where he briefed President Komorowski on the socio-economic progress that has been achieved by Sri Lanka after defeating terrorism as well as on the development programmes launched especially in the Northern and Eastern Provinces by the Government of Sri Lanka. 

Ambassador De Silva conveyed warm greetings from President Mahinda Rajapaksa to the Polish President and promised to further strengthen the bilateral relations with Poland.

The Ambassador also visited the “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier" and paid homage by laying a wreath on behalf of President Mahinda Rajapakse and the people of Sri Lanka. (KH/MEA)
