Basil facing arrest on arrival?
Former Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa who is accused of his alleged involvement in defrauding millions of rupees in Divi Neguma fund is to arrive in Sri Lanka on a date after 20 April, his lawyers informed Kaduwela Magistrate.
They requested the Magistrate to forward to airport authorities at the BIA, the court ruling which was issued earlier stating that Rajapaksa should report to the Financial Crime Investigation Division (FCID) to give a statement directly from the airport.
However Magistrate refused to do so stating that it is not necessary.
