TMC congratulates its Board of Management Vice President Murali Prakash on his appointment as Executive Director of Laugfs Holdings Ltd.
Murali assumed duties as an Executive Director at Laugfs Holdings Ltd., the ultimate parent of the Laugfs Group of Companies with effect from 2 April. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director of Laugfs Gas PLC.
Whilst giving direction and leadership to certain key business sectors, contributing towards overall group strategy and way forward would be the broad mandate of the position.
Prior to Laugfs he served as the Group MD/CEO of Browns group of companies, a diversified conglomerate and was instrumental in reshaping and leading them over a period of seven years. Prior to Browns, he was the Sales Director at Singer Sri Lanka holding board positions in the Singer Sri Lanka main board, Singer Finance and Regnis Lanka Ltd.
He holds an MBA from University of Southern Queensland and is also a Certified Management Accountant (Australia) and a Certified Professional Marketer (Asia Pacific). He is also an alumnus of National University of Singapore and Asian Institute of Management Manila and a Fellow of Chartered Management Institute UK.
Murali hails from the central province, and has had his education at St. Anthony’s College Kandy excelling in the sport of badminton. He is also a keen Rotarian and well known for his passion towards community projects and served as the Past President of Rotary Club of Colombo Uptown.
