Colombo, Oct 10 (IANS) USS Ford, a frigate of the Oliver Hazard Perry Class of the US Navy, will call on Sri Lanka's southern port of Galle Oct 11-14.

Sri Lanka Army (SLA) has reintroduced checking of all vehicles passing through the main road in Batticaloa to Vaazhaichcheanai, Kalmunai and Verukal areas. This checking of civilians causes untold hardships during emergency travelling, residents express concern.
