The Sri Lanka Cricket board has sacked its Media Manager Dinesh Ratnasingham, the second media Manager to have been removed over the past 12 months.

The Sunday Leader online learns that Ratnasingham, who replaced former Communications Manager Rajith Fernando last December, was told his term will not be extended.

Sources said that the board was concerned that Ratnasingham had a very close relationship with the media.

It is also learnt that a female official in the board had pushed for Ratnasingham’s removal.

Last December SLC administrators had taken a decision not to renew the contracts of more than five SLC employees. Amongst them were the former Head of International Cricket who was later demoted to Head of Domestic Cricket, Carlton Bernardus, former Manager National Development of Cricket who was later demoted to the post of Administration Manager Coaching Academy, Sidath Fernando, former Manager Women’s Cricket Vanessa De Silva, former Human Resources Manager Lasitha Mendis and former Communications Manager Rajith Fernando.
