Larry Otis Brooke

Larry Otis Brooke, 71, Columbia City, passed away on Dec. 30, 2020, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

He was born in LaPorte on Sept. 4, 1949, to the late Cyril and Virginia (German) Brooke. He spent his formative years in Knox. After high school, he served in the United States Navy until his honorable discharge on Oct. 16, 1974.

He was married to Rita Makowski in Churubusco on Feb. 16, 1980. The couple has lived at their current home for the last 33 years.

He retired from Perrish Leasing in Fort Wayne, where he worked as the “Shop Guy.”

Larry is survived by his wife of 40 years: Rita Brooke; four step-daughters: Kathleen (Dennis) Cooley, Sherry Makowski, Linda King and Deborah (Tony) Clemmons; a brother: Robert (Judith) Brooke; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In additional to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a step-son-in-law: Bill King.

Due to concerns of COVID-19, there will be no services planned at this time.
