Fran Van Lue

Frances Ann “Fran” Van Lue, 63, Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly at 6:15 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, 2020, at her home. She was born on June 16, 1957, in Lafayette, to Samuel and Ada (Scowden) Carte.

She graduated from Southwestern High School in Lafayette and attended Indiana University in Bloomington. She grew up in Lafayette and lived in South Bend before moving to Syracuse where she lived most of her life. She was married on Oct. 20, 2005 in Syracuse, to John D. “Dave” Van Lue who survives. She was employed at Deputy in Warsaw and formerly worked at Key Bank, Green & Cates Law Office, Integrity Medical, and Syracuse Elementary School all in Syracuse.

She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse.

She is survived by her husband: Dave Van Lue of Syracuse; son: Jonathan “Jon” (fiancé – Cassy Wheeler) Zielinski of Columbus; step-daughter: Hayley (Dave) Ahearn of Indianapolis; step-son: Ruston (Candy) Van Lue of Loogootee; eight grandchildren; two sisters: Ginny (Ron) Toll and Rita Darnell both of Lafayette; two brothers: John (Judy) Carte and Rocky Carte both of Lafayette

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Private family memorial services will take place with Pastor David Henry officiating.
