SYRACUSE — Humans and canines alike look forward to the annual Tails & Trails event, and this year is bringing it back with a few new additions.

Taking place Saturday, Nov. 14, humans and their dogs are invited to arrive at the Syracuse Community Center, 1013 N. Long Drive, at 1 p.m. All dogs must be leashed.

There will be a 5-mile walk along the Syracuse Loop Trail. Afterward, there will people food and dog treats available from Shawnanigans Food Truck, a raffle at the community center and live music by Fawcett Music. Artist Elizabeth Wamsley will have a booth set up, too, with a variety of pottery arts, such as cups, plates and bowls; she will take customer requests as well.

Make sure pets are looking their best as photo sessions, with photographer Lexi Carter, will be available at Lakeside Park’s gazebo for $20. Each session will result in four to five edited digital images, which will be ready within a week. These images would be perfect for holiday cards.

Tails & Trails will run until 4 p.m.

The registration fee is $10 per dog, and it includes a free gift. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Syracuse-Wawasee Trails office, 207 N. Huntington St. They can also be purchased the day of the event.

Tails & Trails’ gold bone sponsors are The Underground Hound, Lakeland Animal Clinic, Todd Realty, Crossroads Bank and Maverick Promotions.

For information, call (574) 675-6433 or email ed@syracusewawaseetrails.com. Also, visit www.SyracuseWawaseeTrails.com.
