Attempts are being made to bring about racism again – warns Azad Sally

- newsfirst.lk

Leader of the National Unity Front, Azad Sally, speaking at a media briefing in Kandy, on Friday morning, stated that attempts are being made to bring about racism again

He added:

You might recall the incident when they raised a flag at the Temple of the Sacred tooth relic and arrests were made and later, when Gotabhaya Rajapaksa was summoned before the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, persons from the SLFP-led Alliance arrived there with those flags and former SLFP ministers and secretaries were present there violating the constitution.

He further recalled:

Dallas Alahapperuma says that he was not aware that he was holding such a flag and they promised before court that they would not repeat this mistake. However, the same flag was seen at a meeting held under the leadership of Mahinda Rajapaksa.

He also stated:

They distorted the national flag under his leadership – Mahinda Rajapaksa, who went against the constitution by becoming the president twice – so look at the state of the nation, because the Sinhalese people need to understand this.
