Press Release

WARSAW — When Mike Long of Long Family Farms took a load of soybeans to be processed at Louis Dreyfus this fall, he told them to be sure to make the check out to Cardinal Services.

That load of soybeans brought $10,931, which Mike and his wife, Dara, presented to the interim CEO of Cardinal Services, Jane Wear.

The Longs have designated their donation to Cardinal’s Direct Support Professional (DSP) Wage Fund, to help support wages of employees providing direct support to the people Cardinal serves. The Long’s son, Isaac, resides in a Cardinal group home.

“Isaac’s DSPs do just wonderful work with him, making sure he’s engaged and doing things he likes to do,” said Mike. “When we visit and see him so happy there with his staff, we understand first-hand how important their work is.”

Wear also announced that the Long family’s donation will be matched dollar for dollar by the AWS Foundation. The Foundation has committed to match all donations to cardinal’s DSP Wage Fund, dollar for dollar up to $212,500, through November 2021.
