WARSAW — There are growing indications that the Stock + Field in Warsaw might soon be closing.
InkFreeNews has received reports from more than one reader saying they’ve talked to store employees who say the store will close early this year.
InkFreeNews confirmed one of those conversations.
The Warsaw store has numerous sale signs posted since at least Friday, Jan. 8, announcing that everything is on sale and that sales are final – two things that often happen prior to closing. The company’s Facebook page posted Friday about all items in the entire store being on sale.
Management and employees at the Warsaw store, 3660 Commerce Drive, refused to comment several times this week on the possible closure, referring instead to corporate.
Attempts to reach corporate by email and phone were unsuccessful.
Similar circumstances are apparently happening in other towns where Stock + Field has stores.
According to a story in The Paper of Montgomery County (Crawfordsville), confirmed the local closing and reported that all Stock + Field stores across five states, including Indiana, will close in March.
A South Bend TV station also reported the store in Elkhart will close.
The company also has stores in Rochester, Wabash, Marion and Michigan City.
According to its website, Stock + Field started in 1964 in Watseka, Ill. The company rebranded itself as Stock + Field in 2019 after being known as Big R.
