NPP wants GR to resign and Speaker to be acting President
The National People’s Power (NPP) wants President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to resign and for the Speaker to be appointed as the acting President.
NPP Leader Anuraka Kumara Dissanayake said that the NPP is also ready to give leadership to take the country out of the current crisis.
“The public will not accept any proposals put forward by the President,” he said.
He said that the NPP is also prepared to sit in the opposition and support an interim-Government.
The NPP Leader said that urgent action must be taken to address the crisis in Sri Lanka.
He said that six months after an interim-Government is appointed the country must hold elections.
Anuraka Kumara Dissanayake said that he does not believe there are no funds to hold early elections. (Colombo Gazette)
