Harin says not left SJB nor is he independent MP
Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Harin Fernando says he has not left the SJB nor has he become an independent MP, as yet.
In a video statement today, Fernando clarified that he was prepared to sit as an independent MP in Parliament if the current crisis is not addressed soon.
He said he was not interested in any posts or positions in the new Cabinet.
The MP also recalled that he was firmly against the Rajapaksa administration.
Fernando said that his priority is to ensure the current crisis is resolved.
He said that if the President is refusing to step down then there are other ways to deal with it.
The MP noted that Sri Lanka needs a Cabinet and a Prime Minister now to resolve the crisis.
“Sajith Premadasa or Anura Kumara Dissanayake or anyone else must accept the PM post,” he said.
He also insisted that as far as he knows the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna has not requested a certain number of posts in an all-party cabinet. (Colombo Gazette)
