No Deal Gama established near Temple Trees
A new protest site has been established near Temple Trees named “No Deal Gama”.
The “No Deal Gama” opposes the appointment of United National Party (UNP) Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe as Prime Minister.
Earlier, the area was named ‘Maina Go Gama’ demanding the resignation of then Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe assumed duties today at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Wickremesinghe was appointed as the new Prime Minister yesterday.
He was sworn in before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the President’s House in Colombo last evening.

From 2001 to 2004 he was elected as the Prime Minister to lead the United National Front Government during the presidency of President Chandrika Bandaranayake.
In January 2015, he was appointed as the Prime Minister under President Maithripala Sirisena.
He was elected as Prime Minister at the Parliament election in August 2015.
