Another 40,000 MT of petrol arrives in Sri Lanka from India
Another 40,000 MT of petrol arrived in Sri Lanka from India today, the Indian High Commission in Colombo said.
The petrol was delivered to Sri Lanka as part of India’s assistance to Sri Lanka.
On Saturday 40,000 MT of diesel arrived in Sri Lanka from India.
The Indian High Commission in Colombo said that the diesel was sent under the credit line from India.
Prior to that 12 shipments and more than 400,000 MT of fuel had been delivered to Sri Lanka from India.
Prime Minister Wickremesinghe had said recently that the Government was facing an immediate challenge of securing funds to pay for fuel.
He said that due to the dollar shortages in the banks, the Government is now exploring other options of securing the necessary funding. (Colombo Gazette)
