Sri Lanka selects Lazard, Clifford Chance to advice debt-restructuring
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has selected France-based Lazard as financial advisor and Clifford Chance LLP as legal advisor to support the country on debt restructuring Minister Bandula Gunewardene said.
The cabinet has approved a proposal by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to appoint the two.
The fee will be 5.6 million US dollars.
The advisors were recommended by a committee headed by Treasury Secretary Mahinda Siriwardena and Central Bank Governor Nandalal Weerasinghe.
Weerasinghe said the committee had also negotiated the fees down.
