Sri Lanka’s Litro Gas to resume distribution on May 21
ECONOMYNEXT-Sri Lanka’s state-run Litro Gas Company has announced that it will commence distribution of 50,000 gas canisters from Tuesday (31) after a week of no supply.
Litro was unable to distribute canisters since May 24, as it had exhausted all its stock. With competing gas supplier Laugfs also out of stock since several months ago, Sri Lankans were only able to buy gas from the black market in this time.
Despite Litro releasing a distribution plan and urging the public not to queue up unnecessarily for fuel, many still lined up near gas distribution centres. The new distribution plans will be updated via the Litro website, the company said.(Colombo/May30/2022)
