How the celebrities reacted
We are still kept guessing as to who the real perpetrators are, responsible for the carnage that took place, in Sri Lanka, on April 21st, 2019.The Catholic Church, headed by His Eminence, Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, hasn’t given up the search for the truth…the real truth.Even the world of celebrities certainly did take notice of the Easter Sunday carnage that took place on April 21st, 2019, and were shocked that such a horrendous act could have ever taken place, in Sri Lanka.
Artistes like Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds, and many more shared their thoughts and prayers following the horrific terrorist attack that killed over 250 people and injured many.Since this subject has been very much in the news, especially the past few months, and continues to grab the attention of the world, we thought it would be interesting to look back at what some of the world-famous personalities had to say…at that point in time.
Celine Dion was very saddened when the news came her way, and she tweeted:
“Very saddened by the horrific news of the bombings in Sri Lanka. Such senseless violence has no place in our world. My heartfelt condolences to the victims, their families and the people of Sri Lanka. May you find love, strength and peace” – Celine xx
Lead vocalist Dan Reynolds of the American pop rock band, Imagine Dragons,
tweeted that he was “heartbroken” to learn about the attacks.
“Heartbroken for the people of Sri Lanka. There are no words that could possibly bring comfort or understanding at times like these – I can only offer my deepest sorrow and love along with the millions of others mourning today.”
Richard Marx, pop/rock singer, songwriter, musician and record producer who has sold over 30 million records and had a big hit with “Right Here Waiting,” had this to say:
“Heartbroken for Sri Lanka. When I performed there three years ago I found it a beautiful place with beautiful people. This is insanity.”
English singer and songwriter, Anne Marie, who has attained several charting singles on the UK Singles Chart, including Clean Bandit’s “Rockabye”, featuring Sean Paul, which peaked at number one, as well as “Alarm”, “Ciao Adios”, “Friends” and “2002,” tweeted:
“SRI LANKA, I can’t believe what has happened. My heart is hurting. Sending love, thoughts and healing to all.”
Singer Mariah Carey, sharing her thoughts and prayers, on Twitter, had this to say:
“Sri Lanka, my heart is with you. I’m praying for everyone affected by this horrible tragedy. Stay strong.”
Bollywood actress and former Miss Universe Sri Lanka, Jacqueline Fernandez said:
“Violence is like a chain reaction” and it is time it stopped. Extremely sad at the news of the bombings in Sri Lanka. It’s unfortunate that one is not able to see that violence is like a chain reaction. This has to stop!” she said.
