Prince of Wales College left-arm spinner Rusandu Silva produced a superb performance claiming 5 wickets for 14 runs as Colombo South U-15 defeated Colombo North Under 15 by 23 runs in the Sri Lanka Cricket Prima Under 15 Youth League Tournament at the MCA ground on Wednesday.

Colombo South posted 121 in 43.5 overs with Hirun Matheesha, Rusandu Silva and Himaru Deshan scoring 18 each respectively, and Jason Fernando 17. Lahiru Lakmal took 3 for 29 and Sadeesha Silva 2/12 for Colombo North.

Chasing 122 runs to win Colombo North were dismissed for 98 runs as Silva grabbed five wickets for 14 runs in nine overs. His spell included two maidens. Himaru Deshan who took five wickets in their first victory on Tuesday picked up two wickets.

Colombo North skipper Lithum Senuja played a virtual lone game scoring an unbeaten 37 in making a fight of it, but running out of partners as wickets fell at the other end with Sahan Rashmika 24 the only other batsman to reach double figures.

Colombo South followed a superb 166-run win a day ago against Galle on a superb century and a 5-wicket haul by Himaru Deshan.

Meanwhile, Galle got the better of Dambulla by 28 runs victory in a rain affected fixture at as D.S. Senanayake College Grounds, Colombo.
