CCC’s Kamindu Mendis, who has been in a match to catch the eyes of the national selectors for top flight national duty, was once again among the runs hitting the three-figure mark with aplomb scoring 101 in their drawn match against Army SCnof the SLC Major League 2023 Tournament at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium.

SSC and Police SC entered the finals, SSC obtained 109.145 points heading Group A while Police SC has obtained114.245 points heading Group B having entered the final for the first time.

NCC’s Sahan Arachchige, too who has been knocking on the door for national recognition dis display he was a stoic batsman in the left-hand mould who has arrived on the scene stroking 106 against Bloomfield C&AC in their drawn encounter at the Bloomfield Grounds.

Also ascending the three-figure groove were Badureliya’s Parvez Rasool with 124 and Tamil Union C&AC’s Ravindra Fernando 134 and Tharindu Harshana 111in the drawn encounter between the two sides at the P. Saravanamuththu International Stadium.

Sri Lanka discard off spinner Akila Dananjaya continued his fine form run with the ball claiming career best figures of 9 for 56 as Colts CC romped to a comprehensive 7-wicket win over Ragama CC in their Major League fixture played at Surrey grounds Maggona yesterday.

Meanwhile Galle CC and Army SC from Group A and Air Force SC and Sebastianites from Group B who were placed the last two in the points table, will accordingly be demoted from this tournament.
