NCC defeated Sri Lanka Army SC by 4 wickets with 149 balls to sparein a SLC Major Clubs 50-Over Tournament fixture played on their home grounds yesterday.

NCC breezed to 166 for 6 wickets propelled by a commanding 73 off 43 balls by Pathum Nissanka in going past Army SCs 163 off 35.2 overs.

Nissanka, the Sri Lankan opener, struck 4 sixes and 8 boundaries in his cameo innings with Sahan Arachchige unbeaten on 30 off 32 with 4 boundaries and Niroshan Dickwella 26 off 21 with 3 boundaries and a six.

Asela Gunaratne top scored for the losers with 48 off 68 balls hitting 5 boundaries while Thisara Perera made 29 off 38 with 4 boundaries and Dinesh Chandimal 21.
