Sri Lanka has won 47 ODIs and all 3 T20s vs Zimbabwe

Sri Lanka has a distinct advantage on paper over Zimbabwe launching into its 2024 cricket program hosting Zimbabwe for 3 ODIs and 3 T20s commencing from January 6. The three ODIs will be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium concluding on January 11.
For the record, Sri Lanka has won 47 of the 61 ODI exchanges with 2 no results, and all three T20s between the two countries since 1992 to July 2, 2023. Zimbabwe has won only 12 ODIs. The final game was won by Sri Lanka by 9 wickets at Queens Super Club, Bulawaya.
Sri Lanka won the first ODI by 5 wickets at Maple Leaf North West Ground in 2008 and the last game which was in the ICC Word Twenty 20 Sri Lanka won the first match in Group C by 82 runs at home in Hambantota.
The three T20s will be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium will from January 14 to 18. Both series’ will be day/night encounters.
Meanwhile, the new Lankan selection committee headed by Upul Tharanga, the former Sri Lanka opening batsman, is expected to name new captains for the series with Kusal Mendis tipped to be named ODI captain and all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva the T20 captain replacing longtime captain Dasun Shanaka.
