The Indian judiciary rejects a call to lift LTTE ban
The Indian judiciary has rejected the request made by Vaiko to lift the LTTE ban.
The Ooty Court stressed that the LTTE had posed a threat to India’s security. The Court made this decision when the petition filed by LTTE well wisher and the Secretary of the MDMK party Y. Gopalsamy alias Vaiko requesting the Court to consider the lifting of the LTTE ban, was taken up for hearing. The Government party making submissions said that information had come to light about links between tiger terrorist and Maoists in India. The court was of the view that the LTTE poses a challenge to the national security in India.
