Promotion and training programmes have been launched for the granting of peoples’ friendly public service.

Initially attention will be drawn to the growth of the capacity of the staff of Divisional Secretariat Divisions. Training programmes will be unveiled from Friday. Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake is planning to launch the initial stage from the Kalutara District Secretariat. The moulding of a productive public service is a priority in the Mahinda Chinthana programme. The needs of the service recipients should be fulfilled in a friendly atmosphere by the public service. As such an administrative strategy with transparency is essential. Mr. Wickremanayake pointed out that the required action should be mooted under the new programme.
