Call to protect text books
The Educational Publications Department has called on School Principals and Officers in Charge of Centres handling the distribution of text books to take precautionary measures to protect the text books due to the prevailing inclement weather.
Commissioner General for Educational Publications W.M.N. J. Pushpakumara in a special statement noted that 87 percent of the text books for the year 2011 had already been issued. Books had been printed according to the requirements and as such he made a fervent appeal to them to protect these books without permitting them to be impacted by the rain.
