ITN feted with Business Excellence Award

Independent Television Network is again honoured with Excellence Awards.

The National Business Excellence Awards, an annual event organized by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka was held at Colombo Hilton yesterday. ITN was feted with the Best Business Brand Award in the Media field. A notable feature is the TV Channel which has won high acclamation from the viewers, being honoured with this award for the last few years. This is not the first Award ITN has won this year, as a state media establishment, in the competitive media sphere. ITN won Awards as the people’s Channel and the Youth Channel at the People’s Awards Festival this year. It also won 16 Awards the Channel to have telecast the best as well as the most popular teledramas, while also winning the Awards given to the Most Popular TV Channel at the recent Sumathi Tele Awards Festival.

While the ITN News Division joined among the outstanding news provider of the year, The TV Channel was able to secure awards after awards at almost every TV Evaluation Festivals throughout the year, including the Raigam Tele Awards Festival. It was after such a victorious journey that ITN succeeded yesterday to bag the Golden Award presented on behalf of Business Excellence for the fourth consecutive year.

The Commercial Bank was able to bag the Golden award at yesterday’s festival in every category. The Silver Award was won by Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel. Raja Jeweller was adjudged the Best Company in the Gem and Jewellery sector, while LOLC was honoured in the Banking and Monetary sector. British High Commissioner for Sri Lanka Peter Hayes graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. President of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka Lal de Alwis was among others present
