Sri Lanka to have her first Seven Star Hotel
Sri Lanka will soon get a Seven Star Hotel. Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Board said the new hotel will be constructed in addition to the seven five star tourist hotels in the country.
Chairman of the Tourism Board Nalaka Godahewa said that 2011 is a significant year for tourism in Sri Lanka. A seven star hotel will be constructed by the Hong Kong based Shangri La Hotels and Resorts close to the Galle Face Green in Colombo.
It has already signed an agreement with the Government to build this hotel. In addition discussions are underway for the construction of several hotels in the Hambantota District. Under these circumstances, several leading companies would be operating in the tourism sector. Accordingly, the Tourist Board Chairman said he saw this as a positive measure of reaching the 2.5 million tourist arrival target in 2016.
