DOT: Drivers urged to remain cautious
Motorists should continue to be careful throughout much of the state, the S.C. Department of Transportation warned Wednesday morning.
Snow, ice and slick patches still linger, making many roads especially secondary routes dangers.However, all insterstates in the state are open and most are drying, the DOT said.Traffic was light in the Columbia area, since many workers were reporting to work late, and all public schools had cancelled classes.In the Midlands and down into the Pee Dee, many primary roads and secondary roads especially those outside cities and towns continued to be hazardous and covered with ice. Even major roads had slippery areas that could be treacherous.
