Aravinda Denies Political Interference In Selections
Former Chairman of the Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee, Aravinda de Silva says selections to the cricket team were done without any interference.
De Silva addressing a press conference said there has not been any kind of political interference in team selections.
De Silva and the rest of the members of the cricket selection committee handed their resignation to the Sports Minister yesterday.
According to him, there was no truth to the rumor that the selection committee had resigned following a dispute with the President.
De Silva observed the President had ensured the selectors that there would not be any political interference in selecting the World Cup cricket team and that the head of state had honored his words.
