Mast General Store sets opening date

Mast General Store will make its debut in Columbia on Wednesday, May 25.Downtown boosters expect the much-awaited old-fashioned country store and cutting-edge outdoor outfitter to be a catalyst for Main Street growth.The store will be similar to what some customers might have seen when they visited Mast outlets in Greenville or Asheville, N.C., company vice president Fred Martin said.“It’s going to look a lot like the product mix in Greenville,” Martin said. But, he added, the Columbia store will have more S.C. vendors, particularly from the Lowcountry, represented. The store also will continue to look for local products to sell, Martin said.
