Min. Amaratunga makes advertising pleas ahead of Christmas Day

Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Affairs John Amaratunga made a plea from all shop owners ahead of Christmas Day at an event held in the St. Nicholas Church in Bopitiya on Thursday, December 24.

A first day cover was issued by Minister John Amaratunga in celebration of the church’s 125th anniversary.

Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Affairs, John Amaratunga stated that he wants to reiterate orders of the Cardinal as it is important to refrain from putting up Christmas trees at Churches. He went on to note that the representation of Santa Claus at hotels and bars should also be stopped as means of advertising.
