President moves to 4th spot in the Time poll

President Rajapaksa further advances to the top of the world’s most attractive characters. He has moved up to fourth spot on Time Magazine’s annual public poll on the 100 Most Influential People.

The poll launched jointly the TIME Magazine and CNN is still continuing and will last t Thursday when Time will announce the final list. The President has reached the fourth spot and reach much popularity, leaving behind all other top political icons and celebrity starts in the world and even some Hollywood superstars in 2011.

It is the opinion of Time that the President has secured this place for the courageous programme he had mooted to meet the aspirations of the people after vanquishing terrorism which scourged the country for 26 years. It is the Sri Lankan President who the only Head of State as well as the only South Asian to be among the top ten. President Rajapaksa is even ranked above President Barack Obama who is placed in the 46th position. India’s Congress Leader Sonia Gandhi is in the 100th place in the list while Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has secured the 74th place. The workers at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant serving in the midst of radiation leaks has reached the 15th position. Prince Williams of Britain and Katy Middleton is in the 108th position.
