Singapore Airlines inks a deal to promote Sri Lanka tourism
Sri Lanka Tourism has tied up with Singapore Airlines to get its support to promote Sri Lanka in a number of Asian countries and also in Australia.
The one-year MOU took effect from April this year. It will see both parties jointly funding tourism promotion activities in a number of countries. Key markets in the agreement include Australia, Singapore, Japan, New Zealand, Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines and China. Among the activities that will be organized includes familiarization trips which will target trade partners, international media and overseas markets. Under the agreement, both parties will provide each other with branding opportunities in their proprietary marketing channels. Singapore Airlines is one of the longest-serving foreign airlines operating to Colombo, spanning across 40 years.
