Launch of World Twenty20 Trophy at Race Course
Sri Lanka Cricket is pleased to announce the arrival of the World Twenty20 Trophy in Colombo. The trophy will be officially received tomorrow, 16th January 2016 at 6.30 pm at the Race Course Ground in Colombo 7. Mr. Raymond Palmer, of the International Cricket Council (ICC) will present the Trophy to the Minister of Sports, Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara and President of SLC, Hon. Thilanga Sumathipala.
Cricket fans are invited to the Race Course Ground to be a part of the celebration that has been organised by Sri Lanka Cricket.
On January 17th the Trophy will be displayed at the Galle Face Green for the general public to view and take pictures with the Trophy from 3pm – 7 pm.
On Monday, January 18th the Trophy will be at SLC Head Office (SSC Grounds). School children in and around Colombo are invited to participate in viewing and taking pictures with the Trophy before it is flown out to continue its tour and head to India for the World Cup 2016.
