Infosys to build world’s tallest clock tower

- newsfirst.lk

The tallest free-standing clock tower will be built in the Southern Indian city of Mysore by none other than IT giant Infosys, reports BBC.

Currently the tallest free-standing clock tower is thought to be the 100m-high Old Joe in Birmingham in the UK and Big Ben in London is just 96m in height.

The structure will be built at Infosys’ 345-acre Mysore campus on a 22×22 meters base in Gothic style. The architecture will match the classical look of the other buildings on campus, Infosys told BBC. However, the old-fashioned face of the structure will have state-of-the-art digital technology.

When built, the new clock tower will have 19 stories which will include meeting rooms, a visitor lounge, dining facilities and viewing galleries.

Infosys, which employs tens of thousands of people around the globe, says it should aspire to be the biggest and best in the world.
