Gratuity paid on behalf of dedication of estate workers
A group of estate workers who dedicated their labour towards the development of the country has been awarded gratuity. The gratuity payments have been made on behalf of workers of several estates coming under the purview of the Janatha Estate Development Board, who had died. The presentation took place at the State Resources and Enterprise Development Ministry. The gratuity was given to relatives on behalf of 248 workers who had died. The estimated expenditure is one million rupees. Minister Dayasritha Tissera, Deputy Minister Sarath Kumara Gunaratne and many Government Officials were present.
